Sarah’s story
NHS employee buys new family home using key worker incentive scheme
Key worker, Sarah, along with her husband and son relocated to Vicarage Fields at Beckingham, to enjoy a more rural lifestyle and enjoy greater work/life balance.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, many families have realised the importance of having more space at home to spend with friends and family.
For key worker Sarah, relocating to a rural area was the perfect opportunity to adjust her family’s lifestyle and find a bigger home.
“When we began looking for a larger home that was between Doncaster and Lincoln, we were alerted to Vicarage Fields and, after viewing completed homes by the housebuilder in Blyth, we knew they were the housebuilder for us because of the quality of the build, finish and the service which was all impressive,” Sarah explained.
Key worker incentive for a new build home
Sarah works for the NHS as a Fundraising Manager which meant she was able to take advantage of the Key Worker incentive scheme offered by Albemarle Homes.
The scheme provides a £500 price discount for every £25,000 spent on a home. That’s equivalent to a 2% deduction to the property list price!
The Key Worker incentive has been designed to help those customers find a home that suits their needs in a locality that is close to where they work, and similar schemes are offered by many new home builders to support more key workers buy a home.
Flexibility and peace of mind
One of the benefits of choosing a new build home over an older property was that Sarah and her family were able to tailor elements of the four-bedroom property to suit their individual needs.
Second to that, the new build developer’s team ensured Sarah and her family were kept up to date with regular progress reports and were able to visit the site to track progress in person.
“Moving home is never without the odd deviation from the master plan but Albemarle kept us informed at every stage allaying any disappointment and giving honest reassurance,” said Sarah.
Space to dream
Having relocated to a small village in Nottinghamshire, Sarah and her family are now able to enjoy the rural lifestyle that’s helping them to achieve a better balance between home life and work life. Plus, Sarah’s son Jack now has the space he needs to fulfil his superhero dreams.
“Our home layout has meant that we have adapted our separate dining room into a the perfect playroom for our superhero fan toddler, and it is great to have been able to find a home that will suit our family needs both now and in the future,” Sarah said.
All in all, the family found in a new build home the space and community they wanted to live happily and comfortably, and had the support through the process to enable them to get on with living.
All homes at Vicarage Fields in Beckingham are now sold. However, the key worker incentive for a new build home in Doncaster is available at other properties at Albemarle Homes.
