Building communities

New Homes Week 2025 runs from Monday 3 to Sunday 9 February. This year’s theme is Community offering a chance to showcase the benefits new build development brings to local areas and the strong sense of community enjoyed by new build homeowners.

In addition to activity centred around our community theme, the 2025 campaign will highlight key advantages of new build homes, including energy efficiency, the simplicity of the buying process, peace of mind cover and long-term value for money.

Benefits of new build homes

Strong sense of community

With local parks, schools and open spaces often on your doors step,  you can enjoy building a vibrant community with your new neighbours.

Warranties and guarantees

New builds come with a two-year builder guarantee and 10-year structural warranty for added peace of mind.

Low maintenance

All new and move-in ready, you can enjoy a blank canvas without the hassle and cost of renovation work and repairs.

Energy efficiency

Research shows around 86% of new homes have an A or B EPC rating, compared to less than 5% of older properties.

Bigger homes, more space

Government data shows that new build homes are, on average, actually larger than older properties – result!

Lower utility bills

More energy and water efficient, the average new build house could save you around £1,500  a year on your household bills.

Daily content themes

Monday: Calling on the community

From the local football club thriving in new leisure facilities to play areas that foster stronger connections between neighbours, we want to highlight calling on the community.

This is an opportunity to tell stories that showcase how new build developments invest in local areas and homeowners enjoy a strong sense of community and belonging.

Tuesday: Low maintenance and effortless living

One of the key drivers for choosing a new home is that they’re low maintenance.

Highlight what this really means and share details of the warranties and cover that come with new homes, that are not available if you chose resale and reno.

Wednesday: Building homes for the future

The increased build quality of new build homes has significant perks – including energy and water efficiency to lower maintenance and upkeep costs. Ultimately, these things make for warm, cosy homes.

Share insight on what makes new builds a good choice, and your experiences living in them or being part of the construction process.

    Thursday: Blank canvas and personalisation

New homes are the perfect blank canvas to make your home your own.

Whether you’ve just moved or are years in, take part in our blank canvas challenge and share how you’ve transformed your property.

Friday: Navigating the new build buying process

Navigating the new build buying experience can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be!

From understanding the buying process to getting up to speed on warranties, share insight, tips and guidance to inform those considering buying a new home this year.

Saturday: Make your move with moving tips and tricks

We want to show how we can make moving into a new home feel a bit easier.

Share your stress-free moving tips, practical checklists, clever hacks, and guidance for how to make the moving journey a smooth, hassle-free experience.

    Sunday: Community close

From vibrant parks and local amenities to family-friendly spaces, we want to see you showcasing the community features that make your area feel like home.

    Homeowner stories

“We were looking at new builds after deciding that our cottage required too much maintenance and we wanted to move to something which would be less demanding.”

    Judith

There is a lot of green open space on the development and we like the fact that the houses are not built on top of each other. When we look out we can see over the nearby fields.

    Charlotte

“The biggest difference with renovating and older property compared with this opne is cost and time, because there’s always hidden problems with older properties”

    Debi

“When we looked at new builds we looked at energy bills and energy ratings. When we got a smart metre we couldn’t believe how cheap it is.”
