Work/life balance; a term that has reached new dimensions over the past few months. As we witnessed the temporary closing of offices alongside an inevitable boom of home offices, the majority of employees may have been struggling to prevent work from interfering with their personal life. After all, how can you really relax when your kitchen or dining room has suddenly turned into an office space?!
Although businesses are urging the UK government to clarify when workers can return to the office, remote working seems to become a more accepted and desirable setup. A recent survey, released by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) in March 2020, reveals that once COVID-19 related restrictions are lifted, a third (32%) of workers will look to work from home on a daily basis. A mere 18% of Brits now prefer returning to the office environment.
With the growing desire to work from home, house hunters have adapted their priorities. Latest research by Strutt & Parker finds that, in light of spending so much time at home during lockdown, 52% of house hunters are now prioritising having a garden whilst 38% want a bigger living space. 32% of house hunters are looking for a countryside location and 25% seek an extra bedroom.
Here at Clearview Developments, we pride ourselves in creating spacious homes that meet the increasing demand for such homes. Our recently completed Build to Rent project The Old Bank in Kent was fully occupied within a few weeks of the launch.
Those looking to purchase a property may want to explore our latest project Broadwater House in Tunbridge Wells. With completion due in early 2021, the 19th century mansion is being transformed to feature a selection of 14 stunning one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments. The spacious and bright interiors will provide ample space for any home office whilst the surrounding nature invites residents to make the most of their spare time.
Located within a conservation area, the property’s road features the only official, public entrance to the adjacent Hargate Forest. Officially an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, nature lovers can admire an incredible diversity of plants and wildlife as well as stunning views over the surrounding countryside. Similar can be said for Broadwater House itself, which will feature beautifully landscaped communal gardens.
As much as Broadwater House’s location is in close proximity to nature, it offers equally convenient access to the hustle and bustle of the local community. The Pantiles shopping district and village area with its variety of boutique shops, restaurants, cafés and theatres is a 5-minute drive away. Perfect for a change of scenery and to forget about any stress at work!
