A downsizing couple from Nuneaton have been named as the 57,000th customer who would recommend a Barratt home to a friend.
Mr and Mrs Bird rated their customer experience as 10/10 in the Home Builders Federation (HBF) customer satisfaction survey that goes out to everyone who buys a new house. The scores from the survey have just been announced by the HBF, with Barratt being rated as a 5 star builder. This is the tenth year in a row that Barratt has been rated as 5 star and it is the only major national housebuilder with this record. To be rated as 5 star means that more than 90% of Barratt customers would recommend one of their homes to a friend.
Michael and Dawn Bird, both in their sixties, were looking for a new apartment in Nuneaton to downsize into. The couple had previously lived in a 400 year old cottage on the edge of town, but were now looking for a new build apartment which didn’t require any maintenance. Particularly important to them was having a modern apartment with the latest energy efficiency and heating systems, and a development where they could enjoy their retirement.
Since they moved into Saxon Meadows they have grown to adore the location of their new apartment. Overlooking pristine parkland and nature friendly woodland, the retired couple love looking at the local wildlife where they can see deer grazing and hear owls hooting.
Michael Bird said: “The whole development is fantastic, particularly compared to what it used to be, an old coal mine! We couldn’t be happier with the customer experience we’ve had with Barratt. Any little snags have been fixed really quickly and the fit and finish of the flat are top quality. We absolutely love our new home and we’re proud to be the 57,000th customer who would recommend Barratt to a friend.”

The HBF’s customer satisfaction survey is one of the largest of its type in the country, with 50,000 people who have recently bought a home completing it each year. The simple 1-5 star rating system was developed to give customers an easy to view ranking system to show which housebuilders have the most satisfied customers.
