Countryside Homes, who have signed up to Deposit Unlock, have written up an introduction to the scheme for New Homes Week.

Providing first time buyers and existing homeowners with the option to purchase their new home with just 5% deposit, the mortgage indemnity scheme has been developed by the Home Builders Federation.

The Help to Buy Equity Loan scheme has played a significant role in turning home ownership dreams into reality for hundreds of thousands of households over the years, and with the scheme coming to an end in 2023, Deposit Unlock aims to continue supporting those who do not have access to large deposits or the Bank of Mum and Dad.

Deposit Unlock and its benefits

Devised in collaboration with lenders and the housebuilding industry, the Deposit Unlock scheme provides borrowers with competitively priced mortgage products for homes worth up to £750,000.

Exclusively available on selected new-build homes across England, Scotland and Wales, the scheme also allows potential buyers to secure their new home with a 95% mortgage, providing access to a low deposit mortgage at competitive interest rates.
