Surrey has great renown as a place to live, with some of the Homes Counties’ most prestigious private estates in addition to successful towns, beautiful villages and some exceptional countryside. All this combined with excellent transport connections, even from some of its more remote locations.

The WhatHouse? Team has gathered some information and the latest news on current and upcoming new homes across Surrey.

A survey by Compare My Move revealed Guildford, located only a 35-minute train ride from London, has been named the best place in the country for city dwellers to relocate to, taking into account the average house price, median salary, download speed and the annual average hours of sunlight. The findings have been welcomed by Clearview Developments, where 50% of its Bargate House scheme has been sold within a time frame of only two weeks, whilst offers on others leaving only one unit left for sale.

Bargate House

Jason Tema, director at Clearview Developments commented: “The demand for our Guildford project has been overwhelming. Although we have always witnessed a high demand from house hunters, we can see that the market has become extremely competitive due to an increasing number of city dwellers looking to relocate. In addition, we have noted a stark increase in savvy investors who are shifting their focus from investment properties in London to the regional housing markets such as Surrey.”

The final unit available here is Plot 1, a three-bedroom apartment with office space. It has three en suites, two of the bedrooms have walk-in wardrobes and one comes with a fitted wardrobe. There’s also a cloakroom, open-plan living area, allocated parking and access to a communal garden.

A significant amount of the architectural design embraces the Regency period and would be an ideal abode for a Bridgerton or Featherington. The clean, stuccoed fashion of this era is seen across the development and adds a sense of luxury to the homes. Furthermore, the layouts have been arranged to provide each household with beautiful views over the estate, as well as access to large areas of garden or private terraces that lead onto the expansive English countryside. The Magna Carta Park estate enjoys sweeping views over Windsor, with a picture-frame view of Windsor Castle and the Long Walk from the Great Lawn at the centre of the development.
