WITH one in twelve unable to move home due to stamp duty costs, one housebuilder in North Devon is offering to relieve the financial burden on selected new homes this month.
During May, Elan Homes is offering to pay the stamp duty on selected three-storey homes at The Gateway, in South Molton, to help home owners who are in a position to move, but who are currently unable to raise the additional funds to cover stamp duty.
Catherine Marshall, sales director for Elan Homes in the South, said: “We know that having to find a large lump sum to pay stamp duty is a major hurdle for many homebuyers and new Nottingham Building Society research confirms this, finding that as many as one in 12 are deterred from moving because of it.
“In a bid to alleviate this common problem, we will, during May, help home buyers overcome this hurdle by paying the stamp duty on selected homes at The Gateway and in addition, we’ll pay for flooring to really smooth the way to brand new home.”
The incentives are available on selected Stamford style homes at The Gateway. An impressive three-storey detached residence, the Stamford is the ideal family home, offering space and flexibility in equal measure.
